Where is Fred Couples? Is he alright? When will he compete again?

Fred Couples has been sidelined for essentially the entire 2007 PGA TOUR season because of his chronic ailing back. He played the FBR Open in February, but missed the cut, carding a 72-70. A week later, he tried his hand at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am only to withdraw due to health issues. However, Fred did compete in the Masters, making the cut in his favorite major for the 23rd straight time, tying Gary Player’s consecutive cuts made record.

The good news for “Boom Boom” fans is that the 1992 Masters champion will return to spotlight for his OTHER favorite tournament this Thanksgiving, the LG SKINS Game. “Mr. Skins” will be competing with defending champion Stephen Ames, Masters champion Zach Johnson, and 2006 Ryder Cup team member Brett Wetterich on November 24th & 25th at the Celebrity Course at Indian Wells Golf Resort in the 25th Anniversary of the event.

Additionally, Couples has committed to be part of the 24-player field for the 19th Merrill Lynch Shootout, hosted by Greg Norman on Dec. 7-9 at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Fla.

When are you going High Def?

GOLF CHANNEL HD currently is carried on select cable systems across the U.S. and on Channel 604 on DIRECTV. We share the channel with sister network, Versus. In 2008, GOLF CHANNEL will again televise all early-round PGA TOUR coverage in HD, as well as other select tournaments and original programming. Please check with your local cable provider to see if they currently are offering GOLF CHANNEL/Versus HD or will be in the future.

Why did you change Golf Central’s time slot AGAIN?

The move of Golf Central to 8:30 p.m. – for fans on both East and West Coasts – reflects demand from a majority of GOLF CHANNEL viewers. When tournament golf isn’t being televised, the 8:30 p.m. time provides a better opportunity for more of our professional audience to get home and in front of the television. This move also allowed us to create a new instructional block of programming from 7-7:30 p.m. – which was another viewer request.

Where is Vince Cellini?

“This query isn't about a specific player, it's about most all of them ... I see them fix ball dents on the greens, and sometimes I notice a player will tap down *something* they feel caused their ball to miss the hole. Then I see them lean on their putters to retrieve the ball. Doesn't this put a dent in the green that might cause their ball to scoot a tad from the line they seek? I would think this would have been addressed before now. Thanks for any discussion on this subject.”
