"This game is just so stupid sometimes." – Peter Hanson, after carding a hole-in-one in a playoff to qualify for the U.S. Open at Bethpage.
"Maybe I should have the attitude of Anthony Kim, get home at 4 a.m. and go play. Friends of mine were out and watched him come in sideways." – Robert Allenby, claiming Kim was out partying very late on the eve of their Presidents Cup singles match. Kim beat Allenby, 5 and 3.

"I can’t believe I did this ... It just shows you how mentally weak I am." – Brandt Snedeker, after a four-putt triple bogey on the final hole at the BMW Championship, when a two-putt bogey from 12 feet would have earnd him a spot in the Tour Championship.
"It was a good nine." – Pablo Larrazabal of Spain, keeping his sense of humor after holing a 9-footer for a sextuple bogey 9 on the par-3 17th during the European Open.
"You end up giving them a signed golf ball or glove. But like that really matters at that point, you know? It’s like, ‘Great, I got hit in the head and I got a golf ball for it.'" – David Duval, after a round in which he struck a patron in the head that required three stitches.

"I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf." – Tiger Woods, in a statement on his Web site, assessing his life and personal issues.
