Golf Guy's Guide to ... Kapalua LPGA Classic
By THE GOLF GUY

Event: Kapalua LPGA Classic
Venue: The Bay Course at Kapalua Resort (par 72, 6,600 yards)
Location: Maui, Hawaii
Purse: $1.5 million (winner’s share: $225,000)
GC Times: 8:30-11:30 p.m. ET (Live) Thursday-Sunday
Overview: After an eight-month absence, the LPGA returns to Hawaii for the inaugural Kapalua LPGA Classic. This is one of three tournaments the ladies play in the Aloha State. Annika Sorenstam won the season-opening SBS Open at Turtle Bay and Paula Creamer captured the Fields Open in Hawaii.
Keep an Eye on: Sorenstam. Annika, not Charlotta. It's been a disappointing campaign since she announced plans to walk away at season's end. Prior to that announcement, she had won three times in 2008. She hasn't won since, with only two top-10s.
The Golf Guy says: It would be great to see Annika win one more time, before she moves on with her life. It would be even better if she did it this week in Hawaii – and I was there, in Hawaii, to witness it. That would be sweet.

“CRB: What happened man? Lost your faith on Paula? She'll be number one sooner or later. The LPGA will survive this crises. because there is a lot of talent out there, like Lorena and others. Annika fans obviously don't see this and never will. They will always live in the past , thinking about Annika and just wishing for the LPGA to die since Annika will not be around. ”
