Mojo 6 co-founder Ed Moses can intrigue you with the possibilities of his new tournament in Jamaica.

It’s Big Break reality TV meets racing in women’s golf, or something like that. He energetically sold the new event's unique appeal at last week's PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando.

Sixteen LPGA players will compete against each other in an unusual format that’s designed to draw out their personalities in intense showdowns with a lot of money at stake. It’s being called Raceway Golf, a format that intends to create showdowns with players trying to knock each other out of the $1 million event on April 15-16 at Cinnamon Hill Golf Course in Montego Bay.

“In creating this, we said, `Let’s make golf more intense,’” Moses said. “Let’s make every shot count. Let’s put the players in situations where they are choosing who they’re playing against. Let's put them in a position where they're saying, `I can knock you out of this tournament.’ It’s toe-to-toe competition, faster and more intense golf.”

Moses says LPGA pros are more intensely competitive than fans realize, and he intends to draw out some rivalries. Moses knows intensity. He’s an Olympic swimming champ who won a gold and silver medal for the United States in the 2000 Olympics. He also knows golf and reality TV. He was on Golf Channel’s “Big Break Disney.”

So far, Suzann Pettersen, Paula Creamer, Cristie Kerr, Angela Stanford, Christina Kim, Morgan Pressel, Jiyai Shin, Anna Nordqvist, Kristy McPherson and Brittany Lang are scheduled to compete. Six more players will be announced. The Raceway Golf format will feature 30 six-hole match-play showdowns in 30 hours. Preliminary rounds set up seeding where the top players pick who they want to try to knock off as the competition advances.

CBS will televise the event on tape delay May 1-2.
