SAN FRANCISCO – Funny moment adjacent the 15th green with Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker trailing by one hole when assistant U.S. captain Michael Jordan spotted NBC analyst Roger Maltbie and put his hand on his belly.
"Rub Budha for good luck," Jordan smiled.
As for the p.m. pairings there was a moment of intrigue late in the process as we waited to see if Phil Mickelson, who had been slowed by an ailing back earlier in the week, would play the fourball session. Lefty, who is a perfect 3-0 this week, will play the anchor match while Hunter Mahan and Kenny Perry will sit for the United States.
