“I have been Tiger fan for many many years. I think his personal life is between him and his spouse. If Billy Payne is judging Tiger on and off the course, then I think all players should be judged as well. Oh, by the way how many of the other players have cheated on their spouse's, but have never been caught? This includes Mr. Payne. It just rubs me the wrong way that this man can stand in front of anyone and say that Tiger has disappointed everyone including, children and his fans. Tiger has only to answer to his God, himself, and to his family. I would like to know what Billy Payne was into when he was Tiger's age, if he can remember. Tiger was not voted in by the people to play golf, he is talanted enough to play the game, and I think all this talk about what he should do and become is a lot of bull. Leave the man alone and let him play his game. ”

“Bill Clinton with the knowledge he had an affair or George W Bush? Enough said. Personal transgressions are irrelevant if you are competent unless trust is essential. We don't personally need to trust Tiger to appreciate his golf but he is more than a professional competitor, he is a brand. Only time will tell if his sponsors will stick by him. In terms of his supporters, why would anyone want to blindly cheer him on to further success knowing what an awful person he has turned out to be in private? We never knew beforehand, but now we do. It's personal choice. GET IN THE HOLE!!! I do hope the annoying habit some people have of shouting this (incl off the tee on par 5's sometimes?) now falls into disuse. Is this cheering him on or making reference to hit extra curricular activities?”

“Everyone needs to understand one thing. Whether you like Tiger or not, support or disagree with his actions, he is a high profile athlete with responsibilities to his employers and his fans. All his endorsement contracts are major corporations paying for the exclusive right to use him for marketing and product exposure. Tiger's fans have fueled his worth by supporting him, purchasing Tiger endorsed products, and driving up the value of any collectibles/paraphernalia with his image on it. If an athlete chooses to sign these lucrative contracts then they are accepting the added responsibility and pressures that go with it (and they are fairly compensated for that). The least Tiger can do is own up to his choices and deal with this mess rather than disappearing. I feel for him and his loss of personal privacy, but he willingly gave that up when he started accepting cheques from Nike, Gilette and all the other multi-million dollar contracts he is bound by. The longer he waits to address these issues, the worse it will look for him.”
