““For two straight weeks Ernie has shot lights out golf. I really like Ernie and have enjoyed each win. Fact is, as you look at the crowds, there was not a tee or green with an obstructive view for any group. For a first time the Champions Tour is drawing comperable crowds. As a player, Ernie and company may enjoy the smaller crowds and reduced distractions. Does golf move on without Tiger? Yes. But the PGA better be prepared to renegotiate those TV contracts and purses. I don't care if you like or dislike Tiger. Facts are facts. The people paying the bills need Tiger Woods. ””

“Though all the posters made heartfelt and incisive comments/reviews of Feinstein's "journalism", you all fail to forget what feeds reporters (if you can call that editorial reporting). CONFLICT!!!! Without he said/she said their by line goes unnoticed, and they feel under appreciated. The ego of most sports reporters is only rivaled by their fear that tomorrow all will recognize that they weren't good enough reporters to be assigned real stories, thus relegated to the sports page (Now go out and get the real story on that Little League playoff!). Actually, I rarely listen more than two minutes to the Golf Channel's "analysis". These guys and girls wouldn't know reporting techniques if they met them on the range!”

“Wow...I agree with all of you. What person, including Feinstein, wouldn't want total control of their own life? I wish I had more control of my own! I love it, I find it amusing when the media (Feinstein) cries because they find themselves, once again, under Tiger's control. Control has always been a part of Tiger's personality. His talent and personality combined, are what makes him "Tiger Woods". The man he is, is the man that stirs our interest in him. I, for one, do not want him to change anything. If he does, then he becomes just like everyone else. The media complained because Tiger wouldn't talk. Now he's talking, and they don't like what he's saying. They wanted, and couldn't wait for him to announce when he would return to golf. He finally tell them, but they don't like the timing of his announcement...or his choice of where he'll return. I hope, when Tiger returns, that he doesn't give the media the time of day. It would be a just reward for all of those who bit off the hand that once fed them. For the record...I think it was Fox who reported that Tiger planned for his 6 minute interviews to air AFTER the tournament was over. No one knew that it was going to rain, and the tournament would end so late. Furyk and Woods are friends, but no matter who won, Tiger didn't intentionally try to interfere with the winner's celebration. ”

“Dear John Feinstein Tell me what you want tiger to say that only has to do with hitting a golf ball. Because he doesn't have to talk about anything else that doesn't relate to golf, period!! The stupid interview was done on the GOLF CHANNEL for f*%k sake, not this is your life now tell me what kind of underwear do you have on, boxers or briefs. And so what if he is a control freak. big deal. dose any one who is successful as he is wants to be controlled by anyone else but themselves let alone some hack sports writers who wish they had what tiger has but are to ugly or fat to have it. John, if you think Tiger is going to get on his knees and kiss your fat ass and beg for absolution for something that you have no right knowing of,right down to every intricate small and fine detail about what happened that day or the past how many years tiger was screwing up HIS PERSONAL LIFE , then you are just as stupid as tiger is. Since 1997 and to this very hour, tiger is bigger than golf. and till the day he retires and the day he dies he will be in some way on par with it. Golf owes its life to tiger. If he hadn't come along golf would still be here but definitely not in the same form it is today. The players would be making half as much in prize money. the tour would have half as many tournaments. the tv networks would not be there. golf would be a side bar on the sunday late night sports cast, right between bowling and horse racing. Don't get me wrong. tiger is such and idiot that its just not comprehensible to try and figure out what the hell he was thinking if he thought he was going to get away with doing what he did. the guy is the most recognizable person out of every single living person on this planet.( say that out loud- the MOST RECOGNIZABLE PERSON ALIVE) He deserves to be raked over the coals. but thats been done. You ended your winded soap box sad song with a statment that tiger still hasent changed. what on gods green earth do you want him to do. he hasn't played a round of golf yet to prove what he said he was going to change. and that is his respect for the game of golf, not fat, over opinionated golf reporters who think some how tiger owes them a pound of his flesh. John, stop trying to ride tigers coat tails just so you can get one of you coffee table books sold that just end up being toilet reading material and just the same, smelling like Shit!”
