“This is not just about the economy or Bivens. Have you watched an LPGA event lately? I've turned them on (when I can find a broadcast). In most cases the leaderboard is loaded with non-American, non-English speaking women. The winners rarely speak English and post match interviews are torture. Morgan, Kristy, Paula and the rest of them need to win tournaments. Period. American TV audiences are fickle. They will not watch a tournament when the first five names on the leaderboard are Li, Lee, Shin, Kim, Kim and Le. American women need to compete more and win more for American viewers to watch and fans to attend the events! Raise the rating and the attendance and the sponsors will follow.”

“Golf is based on tradition and the loss of Corning was a mighty blow to women's golf. The Virginia tournament at King's Mill is also on the ropes and they have lost the Hawaii events. They are going in the wrong direction led by the wrong leader. Ginn is really the only sponser to pull out because of the economy and everyone knows that Bivens has spent much of her time pushing the LPGA tour in Korea, trying to take advantage of the large number of Korean members in peddling the tv rights and the like. But this, ultimately is the US LPGA tour not the Korean tour. I think that when things are going right she gets to take the credit and when you lose seven tournaments in two years things are not going right. Between the Women's US Open and the end of August these women have no tournaments. This is their playing season and they should not be idle this time of the year. They do not need a break. They need a new commissioner.”

““Wake up people. Bivens is not in her position because she is dumb. Have the LPGA players not seen the conditions of the US and world economy? I think Bivens has made some tough business decisions. If the players are concerned, they should be, along with about 500,000 people who lose their jobs every quarter. In my opinion, the decision was made to either lose some sponsors, or have the LPGA players play for less money. The LPGA players need to ask themselves, should we play for less money, or play in less tournaments? And they also need to ask themselves, what did Patty Berg and Mickey Wright play for?””

“bivens should resign. The players have spoken. The commisioner works for the players. The LPGA is about the players. If she(bivens) isn't performing she should be fired.”
