AT&T National - Congressional Country Club course preview
By GCSAA
This week the PGA Tour returns to Congressional Country Club’s Blue Course in Bethesda, Md., for the AT&T National. GCSAA Class A member Michael Giuffre, director of golf and grounds maintenance, took advantage of a dry advance week to firm up the golf course after a very wet spring.
The four-inch Kentucky bluegrass/bermudagrass/perennial ryegrass/fescue rough is much thicker this year than in the past because of all the rain. This will be the last go-around for the bentgrass/Poa annua greens that are rolling 12 feet on the stimpmeter, as the Blue Course will undergo a greens renovation following this year's tournament.
