Make More Putts by Strengthening your Pre-Putt Routine!

Discover your pre-putt routine by paying attention to your natural putting system already programmed in your game.

Start by, noticing how many times you practice your putting stroke, (usually 1-2 stokes) and how many times you might look at the hole before taking the putter back. At the same time you are gripping the club, shifting or widening your stance, aligning your body and aiming the putter head.

This group of movements is your pre-putt routine. Once you become familiar with these movements, you can start to come up with your very own customized routine by repeating the same sequence every single time you address the putter. The most successful putters have a very simple and precise routine.

Most tour players routines start from their position behind the ball looking at the line of the putt. From this point on, they are in their pre-putt routine. Each player has their own sequence, but it rarely varies from one putt to another. Each putt whether it is 3 feet or 25 is based on the very same exact set of movements engrained into their pre-putting routine.
