Here's a tip to help you with your putting. You may be asking why am I holding a wedge in my hand? Well, the simple fact of the matter is when most people are just off the green, they will grab for their sand wedge or lob wedge. Most golfers will always try to chip or pitch the ball when they are just off the green. Many more times than not you will see players chili-dip it or blade it through the green. But a very simple and reliable way to play from just off the green is to use your Texas wedge - - the putter.

You obviously have to judge the speed and the fringe from here. But as long as the fringe is nice and smooth, I would recommend that you putt the ball. Believe me it's the safest shot. You probably have the largest margin of error if you putt it from just off the green. A bad putt will always finish closer to the hole than a bad chip.

Put in a little practice time and you will become very proficient from just off the green with your putter. Remember, whenever you can opt for the putter. You will give yourself the best chance for getting it up and down every time!
