First of all, I support the idea of drug testing in golf.

Having said that, I think the PGA Tour should disclose what Barron tested positive for.

Why? Because there is a huge difference between testing positive for Winstrol (Serious Roids) and blood pressure medicine. Was he a cheater or did he make a legitimate (if stupid) mistake with prescription drugs?

When a "name" player tests positive, we are definitely going to want to know.

Wasting the time of testers, and the equipment used to test him.

If Barron made a harmless mistake and is concerned about his image, then he could come forward and tell us what he took. He does not have to wait for the tour to talk.

I doubt Barron cares. I doubt he had much, if any, endorsement revenue comming in. The combination of his age, lack of prior success on tour, and the $500K fine means it is unlikely he will play on tour again. He can let sleeping dogs lie and nobody will care.

If, however, a player of stature tests positive, we will care and deserve to know the truth.
