Helping Hackers - Say something nice about Guru4u    Back to Topics  Page: 1 of 3

I have been on this DB for many years and have made a number of new golfing friends. Some I have communicated with outside this DB via email. I have learned a great deal from members of this DB and this DB is living proof that Einstein was correct when he said no one in the room is smarter than everyone in the room.

There has always been some negativity on this DB but since Guru4u has come on board the negativity has multiplied. To quail some of this negativity I thought it would be nice to start a thread where we only say positive things about Guru4 and remember if you can’t say anything nice about him please don’t post anything at all.

I certainly enjoy Guru4's responses and insights into the golf swing. I think he has only attacked those that deserved it and only in self defense. There are a few on here that get excited about trashing every thread.

He seems genuinely interesting in helping people with their swing, even after the negativity flares. He makes a concerted effort to explain himself clearly, and proofreads his text before posting.

I don't agree with a lot of his philosophies of the swing, but I certainly appreciate his trying to help.

To Curran ... is this your apology? It is clear you have a back channel communication going. Perhaps you can communicate the same message there. I don't really want an apology. All I want is to be treated with the respect 30 years of blood, sweat and tears have earned. I will do the same for you!

I don't need a positive thread as you suggest, all I want is for you and your friends (did you notice the absence of the "R" word) to respond to my posts in a sincere manner ... without the personal attacks. Doing this would allow us to argue golf instead of personality. I still have not seen any direct refutation of my posts. If you don't agree with me, take the time to think through why and then provide an alternative concept. We can duke it out to a point of no agreement, partial agreement or better. I want to grow as much as anyone!

To those who made positive comments, thanks for the thoughts. Maybe we can get back to golf now. I'm working hard to organize about 3000 written pages and thousands of graphics into a master, free lesson page at www.craftsmithgolf.com/Free_Lessons. There is nothing for sale there!

I welcome your ideas about how to organize this page. As you can see, the general idea is to divide instruction into three parts ... novice, experienced and skiled player. This will allow any player to go to the point of his problem. Each section will have links to other related sections. I would greatly appreciate your help. THERE IS ROOM FOR ALTERNATIVE IDEAS!

I think he is brilliant the way he has mastered the putt putt stroke which leads him to excel at hitting the clown's mouth nearly evertime.
He's quite a talent and competes well against the average 8 yr. old.
What a guy.

Everyone attempting to play deserves good words and a pat on the back...and that goes for Curran90 and guru4u.

Both have helped many of my new friends and I'm proposing an Independence Day Open.

We can all spend a weekend in the flesh playing, betting and having fun without our wives.

Maybe the Golf Channel will throw in the corndogs and soda?

Guru4u, this is, indeed, a public apology to you, and in fact, to the whole readership. I needed to say what I did, but in fact, I was the first between us to make a personal remark about the other. You are just being you. And the fact that reading you annoys me is, frankly, my issue.

I will do what it takes to not bring this to the board again.

Way to catch the spirit.

My college team could not only hit the clown's mouth nearly everytime, but they dropped an average of two strokes per round, per player ... just from learning how to putt. Do the math ... 2 X 4 X 3 = nationally ranked in six weeks.

What have you accomplished! Get out of this thread jerk off!
