Phil Mickelson's round on Thursday was temporarily disrupted by a "fan" who apparently made an obnoxious comment. These idiots have got to go. My suggestion on handling the type of person who feels compelled to be a part of the action instead of simply observing it...make everyone aware that inappropriate or rude behavior will result in a trip to JAIL! I heard that Augusta National prosecutes this type of moron for disturbing the peace. That would certainly help control the situation.
I'm not Mickelson's biggest fan by any stretch of the imagination. But enough of the ridiculous comments that players are sometimes subjected to. Let the offending idiots go spend a few hours in the tank with the rest of the drunks. I'm sure it would help.

I agree completely. Just kicking them off the grounds when they've received a free ticket and hospitality beers and food (as so many of these punks do) is no punishment at all. Something more needs to be done.

Prosecuting them is fine with me.
Of course, sooner or later, someone will be along on this thread defending such behavior and telling us traditionalists that golf (and golf fans) should be no different than other sports.

good post, why don't those guys stick to pro wrestling? Additionally, I think there should be a mandatory three day jail sentence for yelling "in the hole".

These clowns are not new to golf by any stretch. They usually used to be confined to the back of the 18th green, or maybe one other hole where the "beer tents" were. But now the "hospitality" areas surround the back of several greens at tour stops and those with "liquid courage" sometimes make their way to the golf course.
Next time Phil needs to drop kick the guy and put him out of his misery.

One can not watch any replay of a tournament from the past several years and NOT hear the "get in the hole" freakos. I wish they'd remove that background "noise."
