Behind the Scenes: Guessing Game

Editor's Note: If you want more of an inside look into season four, tune-in every Wednesday for our new Big Break IV All-Access show.
We woke up for a 5:45 am breakfast this morning and the European Team was feeling under the weather. Guy and Thomas were both catching a cold. Marty on the other hand, had eaten two steaks the night before and had quite an upset stomach. Of course, he was blaming Thomas. It seems that Thomas had sent his steak back twice last night. But instead of sending it back to the kitchen, Marty had been kind enough to eat it for him.
Once we loaded everyone up with medicine we headed to the driving range.
Usually quite chatty on the range, the guys were abnormally quiet today. I wasn't sure if that was due to illness or the realization that the competition was getting a bit tougher.
Either way, we were off to the immunity challenge quickly enough. And today's immunity challenge would be just a bit different. Both teams would play against the course for three holes. If they beat par, they were immune. If not, they would be going to elimination. Which meant, in the end, all seven of them could be there.
Europe went first. After one hole, they were 1 under par. Marty's & Warren's birdies saw to that. On the second hole, however, Marty bogeyed and they went even for the challenge. Warren's bogey on the final hole sealed their fate and their appearance in the elimination round.
Then it was The American's turn. They were 1 under after the first hole thanks to a great chip shot by Paul and a subsequent birdie. They remained 1 under through the second hole. Randall's 4-putt and double bogey surprisingly sent them to elimination as well.
Even though they were all heading to elimination this afternoon, at lunch the mood was lighthearted and fun. I think in part because they all liked their odds at elimination. Instead of the possible 4:1 or 3:1 that it could have been, it was now 7:1. Whatever the reason, they were talking about everything...they were still giving Marty a hard time about his shank the other day...Paul was talking about how he feels out of his element due to the hurry up and wait that goes on at these shoots...and there was lots of guessing about that afternoon's challenges.
But that will have to wait until part II of this show next Tuesday. For now, I'll leave you guessing too.
