““Brown is irrelevant and only wants to ride on Tiger's coattails though Brown is not even half the man Tiger is. J.B. is a man who threw his 'hos' down the hill off his Hollywood home deck when he was 'done' with them. Since he cannot surpass Wilt Chamberlain's record, this pathetic human can only tear down others to raise his social 'status'.””

“I am 48 years old and have never seen racism hold anybody back. In fact I see blacks getting special priviledges so what is it they think they don't have already. As far as my world, racism is mostly dead...get over it already. Everyone around me in my life already has.....Jesse and Al will lose their job though if they don't keep beating that dead horse.”

“Marcellino, thank you. You are absolutely, 100% right. Jim Brown is rapidly becoming a Jessie Jackson or Al Sharpton. These media whores seem to lie just below radar until something surfaces which will allow them to gain some media time. If Brown was really concerned about the plight of black American youth, he should have approached Tiger Woods personally to begin a dialogue on the subject. Not spout off to the media about what he feels Tiger is, or isn't, doing. ”

“I think Soccerguy came much closer than anyone on this board to hitting the nail on the head. Jim Brown took a swipe at Tiger Woods in name, but he was really taking a swipe at every athlete who doesn't stand up because they are more interested in their corporate marketability, than in using their influence. You can say what you want about Jim Brown, but when issues affected people in his situation, he lead with the chin. No meeting with the PR person and the agent to see how his position would play out, just do what you feel or know is right. That is the biggest difference with todays athlete, and unfortunately, because Tiger is the biggest name, and symbol, he was put forth as the example. But again, even though he named Tiger, I think Jim Brown's wrath is targeted towards many other prominent athletes, Tiger is just the "whale" among them.”

“He actually has no choice in becoming or not becoming a racial activist as long as racism is still around and he is Black. That's the facts.”

“Tiger Woods has always handled himself in a professional, first class manner. Just because he is a high profile african american, it should not be assumed that he should be a loud-mouth racial activist like Brown. This is another case where a forgotten athlete can't stand to not be in the limelight anymore and chooses to criticize those who are. Like Barkley said, I'm not your role model. Tiger is neither obliged or expected to be anything other than who he is. JB needs to accept the fact that his ancient attitude is not shared by the generations that followed him and should shut the hell up and go back under the rock he came from.”

“You must have forgoten what he did in the 60's by supporting Muhammed Ali and speaking out about the problems that Black people were {and still are) going through in America. He (JB) reached out to the gang members in LA but I guess you didn't know about that. I even think Michael Jackson did the same thing, did you know that. Guess it's not BIG ENOUGH of a story.Who really gets to take advantage of it,(the learning center that is, i don't see one in chicago)? But I guess I shouldn't expect too much from a guy who listens to Michael Jordan who has done sooooo much for black people. Remember Republicans buy gym shoes also. God forbid that he should anger that political party that has a great track record among Black voters. That's why I have to say what I say because just don't know.By the way MSSGOLFNUT read a black history book and you will find the answer to your question about our struggles and misfortunes. If I may suggest one then read LIFT UP THY VOICE-The GREMKIE FAMILY. This book should explain it to you, oh yea hit'em straight!”
