“choking is just not about the shots you hit. it's about the decisions you make also. It's usually more than one hole that let's you know a player is feeling the pressure. Perry started messing up on 17 after the tap in birdie on 16. Phil was spraying drivers all over the place at the '06 open. should have hit an iron off the 18th tee. Sergio, and Paddy made bad decision down the stretch at the '07 british. they even were comparing Harrington to Vandevelde. Still, it's not just gagging on a shot. it's the decision making process which leads to the shot.”

“Compare Perry's finish at the 2009 Masters with Mickelson's finish at the 2006 U.S. Open or Garcia's finish at the 2007 British Open. Who do you think really "swallowed the olive"? All did not come through on the 18th hole. It depends on your point of view. Jolfer ”

“No one hits good golf shots every time they step up to the ball. Not even the pros. Perry just hit one, or two fewer good golf shots than Cabrera. Bottom line is they out played the rest of the field. Or, did the rest of the field just not play well enough to get into position to "choke"? Then again, maybe the rest of the field starting choking on day one, and no one noticed. Perry just got out played down the stretch, by a player who was able to regroup from a bad shot. Patch ”

“The best putting tip I ever got: "Doesn't matter what kind of putt it is, birdie, eagle, par...its just 1 stroke." Go out this weekend and let me know how it works for ya! :P ”

“You wanna quote?? George Costanza once said, "It's not a lie, if you believe it." There's a lot of 'truth' in that if you think about it. On the golf course, as in real life, you need to be positive to achieve success. Believe you deserve that job and you will ace the interview. Believe you will make that putt and it will go in! As far as what you say outwardly mattering? That's up for debate...I don't necessarily buy all the psychological mumbo-jumbo (or the need to pay for a sports psychologist!) - all I can say is, "May the force be with you...". Its what you really believe inside that counts. And if you really don't believe it inside, well, you're screwed!”

“Choking is choking is choking is choking! Anyone who has ever played sports (of any kind)and been "under the gun" has "choked". Missed putts, missed free throws, missed field goals.........you name it! We've all been there! It's nothing to be ashamed of. It is all part of the game, folks! The ones who can "shrug it off" or even laugh it off are the ones who use it as a learning experience and come back for more! If you want to pay a "shrink" big bucks to teach you fancy synonyms for the word "choke" then that is great! Perception is reality. It's your money. But the bottom line is,after all the dust settles and the smoke clears, sweaty palms and a racing heart is what we play and strive for anyway!”

“piko,....and you've talked to the "average" Tour player, have you ? No, I didn't think so ! What a load of absolute drivel. You have no clue about what you're talking about. Geez Louise, another mindless Sylvester groupie. Wipe the drool off your chin, and stay put on the "tugger-nothings" reserve. Un-freakin-believable !................Z.”
