NATIONAL TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
(September 25-27)
Join us in La Quinta, CA September 25-27 for one of the oldest and most exciting events in GOLF CHANNEL Amateur Tour history, the Team Championship. Experience pride representing your City and Tour as you compete with 11 other teammates with the ultimate goal in mind: Winning the pressure-packed Team Championship Cup!
Local Tours from across the country will send 12-person teams to face off in the ultimate showdown for bragging rights and a place in Tour history. Each team, comprised of two players from each of the six flights, will face off in a Ryder-Cup style format which proves which City/Tour has the best players from top to bottom.
The winning team will take possession of the prestigious Team Championship Cup for the 2009-2010 season. Each player will receive a replica of the Team Championship Cup, as well as individual gift certificates/merchandise.
In addition to the competition, participants and their guests will also enjoy the Team Championship Dinner, our signature kick-off event schedule for September 25 at La Quinta Resort that includes fine dining, raffle prizes, activities, and a special appearance by a member of the GOLF CHANNEL broadcast team.
ELIGIBILITY/QUALIFYING
A player qualifies to represent their team through criteria established by the local Tour Director. The local Tour Director can choose from a variety of programs to make their team. Each team will have 12 players and is comprised of two players from each of the six (6) flights.
FORMAT
45-hole Ryder Cup-style Team Championship consisting of a three different formats: best ball, modified alternate shot, and individual match play.
ENTRY DEADLINE
The entry of each team is the responsibility of the local Tour Director. Each competing Tour must have their final roster submitted no later than Monday, September 9. There is no online entry for this event. Contact your local Tour Director for details on how to compete for your home Tour.
