SENIOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP OVERVIEW
(September 21-25)
The GOLF CHANNEL Amateur Tour’s top senior players will descend upon the “Western Home of Golf in America”, as PGA West and affiliate courses will play host to the Senior National Championship, September 21-25, 2009. Annually, the tournament attracts the finest Senior Tour Players from across the country as they compete for the Senior National Championship in one of the 6 flights on the GOLF CHANNEL Amateur Tour.
Players will enjoy a professional-style 72-hole stroke play championship on some of the finest courses in the country. In addition, contestants will be treated to the popular Players Dinner, complete with GOLF CHANNEL On Air Personalities along with nightly scoring functions.
ELIGIBILITY
Players must have turned the age of 50 on/before December 31, 2008. Players must also be designated as a Senior on the Callaway Order of Merit for the duration of the season.
The Senior National Championship is open to exempt players and qualifiers only. Please contact your Tour Director or Regional Director to confirm your qualification or if you are unsure of how to qualify.
FORMAT
The Senior National Championship is a 72-hole individual stroke play competition with a cut after 54-holes. Players failing to make the 54 hole cut will compete in an 18 hole consolation round on September 25th, 2009. All play will be primarily in 3-somes for pace of play. USGA rules are in effect at all times during play.
ENTRY DEADLINE
The deadline for entry is September 14, 2009 at 9:00 PM PST.
TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION
Entry fee of $725 includes:
- Green fees for all four rounds of Championship Golf
- Cart fees for all four rounds of Championship Golf
- Range balls during all phases of the competition
- National Championship Players Dinner on Monday, September 21
