Bio Update: Since The Big Break IV: USA vs. Europe, Eddie has stayed in professional golf by cadding full time for Angel Cabrera. Most notably, he's caddied Cabrera to top-10 finishes in the 2006 Masters and Open Championships. Even out on tour, Eddie gets recognized frequently for his appearance on The Big Break IV. From his travels, he reads and speaks Italian, French, English and Spanish.
The Big Break IV Bio: At 15, knew Eddie wanted to play professional golf. He soon discovered he didn’t have the temperament to sustain a successful career and, at 19, started caddying as a way to stay close to the game. At 22, he moved to Switzerland. Eight years and 11 professional victories on the bag, Eddie had created an impressive resume. Some of his more notable loops included Miguel Angel Jimenez, with whom he shared six victories and memorable events like the 1999 Ryder Cup at Brookline Country Club and the 1999 WGC-American Express Championship at Valderrama, where Jimenez lost to Tiger Woods in a playoff. In 2001, he was ready to quit the caddy lifestyle and start playing again, when an unexpected call came his way. Sergio Garcia had temporarily lost the services of his regular caddy to a long-term illness and Eddie was invited to fill in at the 2002 Ryder Cup. Eddie says his playing career really started in 2003 after his stint with Garcia ended. He plays on several professional tours in Europe and Central America and teaches golf during the summer months at the ultra-exclusive Golf Club Crans Sur Sierre, which is frequented by royalty and celebrities, alike. He now considers Switzerland his country and he holds a Swiss passport. He winters in Miami – where he discovered The Big Break series – and plays on the Tour Las Americas throughout Central America and the Caribbean. Eddie also makes a habit of traveling to major tournaments around the world to keep in touch with old friends and contact, including good friend and hero Seve Ballesteros.
The Big Break IV Results: Eddie was so angered by the behavior of The Big Break II competitor Don Donatello- who was making a guest appearance- during the immunity challenge in episode five that he was not focused during the elimination challenge, and was subsequently sent packing.
