Bio Update: Since leaving Trump National as The Big Break VI: Trump Nationalchampion (and on Donald Trump's speed dial), Bri continued her 2006 Duramed FUTURES Tour season and posted her first professional top-five finish with a tie for fourth in the Hunters Oak FUTURES Golf Classic (Queenstown, MD). She attributes her newfound confidence on the golf course to her experience on The Big Break VI, and has recently moved to Orlando, Fla., for the winter in order to keep her game sharp. Bri is the only past champion to compete in The Big Break VII: Reunion.
The Big Break VI Bio: Bri didn't take golf seriously until high school when she played on the boys' team and was named All State for girls and second team All State for boys. In a relatively short time period, she developed a passion and talent that earned her a golf scholarship to North Carolina State University. During her stint with the Wolfpack, she set, and still holds, the 18- and 54-hole scoring records. As a senior, she finished 10th at the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships. Later, in 2004, she won the Massachusetts Amateur and qualified to play in the U.S. Women's Open. Like last year, Bri will play on the Duramed FUTURES Tour Coming from a close family, her mother travels with her on the road and her father flies to tournaments to be her caddie. During the U.S. Women’s Open qualifying, her father caddied while her mother walked the entire 36 holes on a broken foot. The 24-year-old cites her father as the person having the most influence on her golf game. Her father had prostate cancer in 2005, and the following month she found out that her mother had breast cancer. Currently, both are doing well. An emotional competitor, she is quick to laugh and tell jokes. After graduating from N.C. State, Bri was a Victoria's Secret sizing specialist and still brings her measuring tape to tournaments to help her friends get properly fitted.
